Hi, Dr. Wolfe, I just encountered your post after reading an article from http://seekingalpha.com/news-article/1314505-fda-concludes-silicone-breast-implants-mostly-safe
Correct me if I’m wrong, breast implants are not 100% safe as it cannot last for a lifetime and the longer it stays on women’s breasts the higher the risk it entails. Is the conclusion of FDA regarding the safety of breast implants solely derived from the result of the follow up study created by Allergan and Mentor?
Just in my opinion, the real safety of having implants is based on the usage of the person having it. Implants will have an adverse effect if it is used for excessive cosmetic enhancement.
People should learn that there are important information they have to learn first before taking decisions. I have read information from http://www.plasticsurgeryguide.com/breast-augmentation-implants.html and other blogs and stories, I think readers should also share this kind of information to create awareness.
