This is wonderful news to know that someone is looking after american patients health and well being.I would PLEASE like ro add the extreme necessity for the recall of temporary plastic bile duct and pancreas stents during a procedure called ERCP.These stents have conclusive studies (for years) showing the damage that they cause.Once inserted they migrate, occlude(blockage with stones and sludge),collect bacteria, cause biliary cirrhosis and the damage goes on.Please search (complications of bile duct stents after ERCP),(complications of pancreas stents after ERCP)to further validate this proven claim.I have been injured by the stents and so have thousands of orther patients. The FDA had been doing clinical trials on the use of biodergradeable stents made from plant plastic because “a second ERCP needs to be performed to remove the original stent.”The problem is that when you remove the stent it causes more scar tissue and the need for an additional stent to compensate for the damaged duct.this becomes a vicious cycle eventually lesding to risky surgery. Please investigate this very important matter.American peoples lives, health and well being are at stake here.
