    I’m so glad you added your comment calling into question the value and seriousness of cost-benefit analysis. It’s rare to see anyone point out that the technique is contrived and of dubious value. It’s the analytical sector’s version of The Emperor Has No Clothes.

    That it’s so widely used is indicative of the pervasive influence of economists and their dollar-oriented way of thinking in public policymaking, despite the corrosive effect that giving those values prominence has on democracy and the public discourse. By accepting, and even adopting, C-BA as a tool, progressive organizations have fallen into the trap of allowing marketeer values to shape policy discussions.
