Exelon only promised to not lay off people in 2 years in the “utilities” defined as the people working NOT in DC. So really the people in DC are all at risk. That’s thousands of people.

This merger amounts to payoffs to every group in the region. The only people who have no leverage are the workers. The executives and shareholders will be richer than life and the workers stand to lose everything.

Exelon, a strange name….what’s in a name as Willy S. has said. Maybe your name tells us all we need to know! If I can make fun of you Exelon———all the better as you deserve it! Taxpayers are tired of paying for nuclear disasters! Besides Pepco handles power lines for D.C. Shouldn’t something reliable be there, Exelon?
Well, what does that name mean anyway? EX = away from something, like ex-husband—not a really good visual. Elon, oh that’s an actual name , even in Scandnavian countries. Elon in Hebrew = a strong oak tree…ok. but how does that compute with nuclear energy——geez that would fry a tree. Then Elon is also an African female name = “God in me.” Then add that EX! So you want to be AWAY from God…, that certainly suits nuclear energy. ( see Fukushima.) Well EXelon, you seem to be AWAY from anything positive. Maybe EXelon, you should invest in SOLAR and call yourself SOL INVICTUS, the unconquerable sun; that’s what the planet needs. Your name is your brand as they say————so the world needs to GO away, FAR WAY away from EXelon! There, you see,my reasoning is sufficiently ridiculous——just like Exelons. : )
